Protester representation

In the past several years, cell phones, social media and the 24 hour news cycle have exposed a long standing crisis in our community and nationwide, the dangerous policing of Black and Brown bodies in America. In May and June of 2020, after the murders of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and Atlanta’s own Rayshard Brooks, millions of Americans took to the streets in protest.

While COVID-19 left us unable to attend these protests, we wanted to contribute in our own way. The team at Strongwater & Associates, along with dozens of other lawyers across Atlanta, signed up to represent protestors arrested pro bono.

More recently, our firm has signed on to represent all eleven #StopCopCity protestors arrested on the night of the city council vote.

Should there be a need for similar work in the future, we would renew our commitment to that cause.
