Fall 2014 Update
Jay has been welcomed as a member of the American Board of Criminal Lawyers. The standards for admission include successful major felony trial experience and exceptional recommendations from distinguished jurists and current fellows attesting to the candidate’s high ethics and litigation skills in the area of criminal defense. Jay achieved an unprecedented victory in September. The government dismissed a drug conspiracy indictment immediately following Jay’s opening statement. The client had been staying in the front of an apartment where methamphetamine was being distilled and kilograms quantities of crystal meth and cocaine plus guns, cash and packaging material were found. After the dismissal, the count commented, “that was a helluva opening statement., Jay.” For further details, read here.
There is a constant flow of immigration related cases involving individuals and corporations regarding the H1B visa program in addition to individuals investigated for marriage fraud and other status related issues.
We are seeing an increase in the number cybercrime referrals. Currently, we are representing the “Happy Hacker” and an individual accused of application copyright infringement. Finally, we are defending an individual involved in the health care industry who is under investigation for violations of the Anti-Kickback Statute.
